Who it protects · Home

A house should not need permission to go quiet.

Assistants that keep listening, cameras that keep watching, tutors and toys that answer to a company instead of a parent. SEARIN Home puts one keyed switch by the door that ends all of it in under a second — and never touches the heating, the fridge or the medical socket.

What goes wrong here

The failures this deployment is built against.

Every control below exists because one of these has already happened somewhere, to someone with the same estate as yours.

The assistant that never really stops

Mute buttons are software asking software to be quiet. A firmware update, a mis-set permission or a cloud-side change can restore listening without anyone in the house being told. A severed circuit cannot be updated back on.

Cameras that outlive their purpose

Doorbells, baby monitors and pet cameras keep streaming to accounts nobody in the household still controls — an ex-partner, a former installer, a company that has since been sold. Guest mode and full severance both cut the uplink, not just the app.

Children talking to something unsupervised

AI tutors and toys hold long conversations with children behind a parental-control panel that only limits topics. Parents get a physical stop that needs no password and no phone — a key by the door any adult in the house can turn.

Home robots and agents with spending power

Vacuum fleets map your floorplan; shopping agents hold card details; smart-home routines chain actions nobody wrote down. A single scoped cut freezes the lot and leaves a list of what was running when you turned the key.

How it works here

The severance chain, stage by stage.

The same seven stages run everywhere. What changes is who holds the keys, what is in scope and how fast the cut has to land.

01Map

A survey of every AI device and uplink in the house

A certified installer walks the property with you and lists every assistant, camera, robot, hub, tablet and account that can act on its own. You get the list on paper — most households find three to five devices they had forgotten.

02Instrument

Sockets, hubs and the router are put behind the interlock

AI-bearing circuits are moved onto interlocked sockets or a switched hub feed. Guest Wi-Fi and the AI device VLAN are wired through the same relay, so a visitor's device is contained at the door.

03Watch

A simple panel shows what is awake

Six indicators — power, devices, network, recordings, robots, accounts — show live or dark. No dashboards, no jargon, readable from the hallway.

04Arm

Turn the key a quarter turn

The child-resistant cover lifts and the single household key arms the interlock. An amber ring shows the switch is live and ready. Nothing is cut yet.

05Cut

Press through — every AI device and uplink goes dark

Power to interlocked sockets drops, the AI network segment is severed and cloud sessions are dropped at the router. Lights, heating, fridge, fire alarm and any medical equipment continue untouched.

06Verify

The panel goes to secured, the log records the cut

Every indicator must read severed before the panel shows secured. The household log records the time, who held the key and which devices were live at that moment, in plain language.

07Restore

Bring devices back one group at a time

Restoration is staged — network last — so you can bring back a camera without waking the assistants. Each restoration is logged the same way as the cut.

Scope

What the switch touches — and what it never touches.

Scope is surveyed, written down and physically wired before the first rehearsal. Nothing outside the covered list can be cut.

In scope — severable

  • Voice assistants, smart speakers and display hubs
  • Indoor and outdoor cameras, doorbells and baby monitors
  • AI tutors, companion toys and companion robots
  • Robot vacuums, mowers and household service robots
  • The AI device network segment and guest Wi-Fi
  • Cloud sessions and shopping agents holding household credentials

Excluded — physically barred

  • Fire, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
  • Medical equipment, oxygen concentrators and stairlifts
  • Heating, hot water and refrigeration circuits
  • Lighting and socket circuits carrying no AI load
  • Landline and mobile emergency calling
  • Door locks and egress — never held shut by a cut

Authority

Who is allowed to pull it.

A cut is never automatic and never anonymous. Authority is held by named people in named roles.

One household key

Homes use single-key authority: any adult holding the key can cut, because in a domestic emergency a second person may not be there. Spare keys are registered to the household, not to SEARIN.

Child-resistant, not child-proof theatre

The cover requires a deliberate two-motion lift before the key engages, so a cut is never accidental — but a teenager who needs it can still use it without a phone or an account.

No remote override

Nobody outside the house — not the installer, not SEARIN, not a device maker — can restore a severed circuit. Restoration happens at the wall, by hand.

Deployment

From first survey to first rehearsed cut.

What actually happens, in order, once you engage SEARIN.

Step 01

Book the survey

A certified installer visits, lists your AI devices and uplinks, and marks the life-safety circuits that must be excluded. You approve the scope before anything is wired.

Step 02

Installation day

The Sentinel Home SH-1 is fitted by the consumer unit or in the hallway, AI circuits are moved behind it, and the router feed is interlocked. Typically two hours with one power interruption.

Step 03

Acceptance test

The installer runs a live cut with you watching: every AI device goes dark, every excluded circuit stays up, and the panel reads secured. You sign the acceptance sheet.

Step 04

Annual rehearsal

Once a year SEARIN prompts a household drill — turn the key, confirm the panel, restore. It takes five minutes and keeps the record current for insurers.

Evidence you keep

Every cut leaves a record someone else can check.

  • A plain-language household log of every cut, restoration and rehearsal
  • The signed acceptance sheet listing covered and excluded circuits
  • An annual rehearsal record you can show an insurer or landlord
  • A written device register, updated whenever something new is added

Recommended plan

Sentinel Home

Custom — priced after your home evaluation

Preorder free, no payment. Typically includes the SH-1 interlock, certified installation, the household device register, the annual rehearsal prompt and replacement keys. Additional interlocks for outbuildings or a second property are priced per unit.
